Stories documented in the racial prejudice files describe the way Jim Crow racial segregation was enforced, imposed, and fought in specific instances and varying contexts. Types of documents include photographs, legal documents, reports, letters, press releases, publications, draft articles, clippings, transcripts and writings. The majority of material in this group of folders dates from the 1920s through the 1940s.

Includes the 1941 Hansberry Foundation pamphlet "Jim Crow Cars Abolished," regarding racial discrimination in interstate travel, and the 1947 pamphlet "Segregation on Common Carriers" by James Wallace.

Coverage of Mt Royal Association's and North Avenue neighborhood leaders' efforts to maintain racial segregation.
