Legacy Description
John T. Lewis, Raymond E. Bumbry, and Ernest E. Tinnen were members of the Ionic Lodge Prince Hall Masons. The Prince Hall Masons and Shriners dispersed $150,000 to African American owned and operated banks as a gesture of faith in minority group owned and operated enterprises. Members of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Masons took part in the cornerstone ceremony at the Greater Mount Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. on June 22, 1957.
